ACTION!

Ok as I said in the post yesterday I have been having issues deciding what to do as far as fitness and Crosfit, food and diet. Well today I have made up my mind. Since I do not have a workout partner for Crossfit as well as the cost which I cannot afford currently, I am going to renew my membership at the local Fitness 1.

I am sure you are cringing in your seat now but hear me out. The membership is 24 dollars a month vs 100, they have a full line up of weights, bars, medicine balls ect and cardio equipment. Now what they dont have is the people, the spirit or ethics that are present at Crossfit Frontier but that is out of reach currently.

This at least gets me back in the gym, lifting and working on form as well as hopefully helping me to get the strength needed to move up in Crossfit. I plan to return to the box in a few months when finances get more stable and absolutly destroy the WOD’s.

Primal vs Paleo

Now this short post is not at all going to cover the bases in the arguments for Paleo or Primal diets and lifestyle. Instead this is more to help me share the things that have worked for me.

Paleo vs Primal is one of those arguments that has raving fanatics on both sides of the fence. Some love to hate the oposition just because, others love to champion their own cause regardless of fact. Both diets have remarkable similarities yet diverge in key areas.
Some of these points are really glossed over and I will be addressing them more in the upcoming days. Thankfully my week is almost over and I can start back working on fitness and writing to all of you who happen to read this.

Decisions, Decisions

Its freakin 7 am and I am stuck behind my desk at work doing nothing. My Crossfit membership is waiting to be renewed but the WOD’s lately are all about running. Too much running, not enough other workouts. And to top it all off this weekend was a pretty crappy one. The wife got her arm opened up by one of the dogs while they were fighting over a bone after she got knocked over. An emergency room visit later and two prescriptions, that adventure was over. So needless to say this weekend was a bit trying and could have gone much better.

While I really enjoy Crossfit Frontier and the people that bust their ass there working out and coaching, I am wondering if I would make more advancements working out at home. But on the other hand forcing myself to go to the box makes me want to workout since I am paying for it and I have other people around. I would like the ability to go out and grab a barbell whenever the urge hits though.

Slacking

Well all of a sudden it is 6 days since my last post and I am no closer to figuring out motivation or the ideal workout situation for myself. I have been knocking out a bunch of pushups, situps, and squats everyday to keep myself moving and motivated but its hard. I will be putting up a pull-up bar as well as parralel bars and a climbing rope. I believe I will be going back to Crossfit Frontier to continue there as soon as I can afford the dues, which should be around the 18th.

The weight loss seems to be stalled since I have not been working out near as hard, but my diet has gotten even better. Thankfully the wife has gotten a ton more involved with the dietary and lifestyle changes so things are progressing nicely on that front.

Motivation

I don’t need a ton of motivation to keep going to the gym, just the progress I have made so far keeps me motivated. The problem I have had lately is convincing myself that the strides I have made were all my doing and not because I have people around me that push me and engage my competitive side and forces me to give it all I have. So to continue making gains I think that the best thing I can do is return to the box as well as work out at home.

Crossfit Games

The Crossfit Games Regionals are coming up this weekend so make sure to catch them on ESPN!
